Author Submissions

If you are a local author and would like to see your book stocked at Sector 7 (firstly, thank you for your consideration), please read the following before you get in touch. 

The Booksellers Association have created a guide on how to approach booksellers and what to expect when working with retailers (https://www.booksellers.org.uk/Industry-Info/Industry-Info/Getting-your-book-stocked-in-a-high-street-bookshop). 

After receiving your submission, we will get back to you if we would like to stock your book. Please note that the shop receives a lot of author submission requests, so are unable to guarantee a reply to all submissions. 

Please do not bring items directly to the store without prior approval. 

Submissions will not be accepted in store, social media etc, you will be referred to this page. Thank you for your understanding.


TERMS

Terms are 40% and stocked on a consignment basis for 3 months initially. If the book has sold during that time, you will be asked to submit an invoice. If the book has not sold, you will have 1 month to collect from the shop. After this time, or if we haven’t heard from you, we will donate the book to charity. 

Initially we will stock a single copy of the book but may ask for more if it sells quickly. 

This does not apply if your book is available on our wholesalers website - Gardners. 


NOTE 

Sector 7 is a Sci-Fi, Horror, and Fantasy genre shop and will only accept submissions within these genres. Ideally Novels, novellas, short story collections. At this time we are not looking for any poetry or non-fiction, thank you! 


HOW TO SUBMIT 

Please send all submissions by email to:

With “Author Submission” as the subject. 

Please include: 

  • A short Author Bio
  • Brief synopsis of your book
  • Image of the book cover
  • ISBN
  • Retail price
  • Format (Paperback or Hardback)
  • Any reviews or notable publicity. 
  • Why you think your book would be a good fit for Sector 7. 

AI DECLARATION (MUST BE INCLUDED IN YOUR SUBMISSION)

“I confirm that no generative AI was used in the creation of this book, including its writing, artwork, cover, or other creative content. I confirm that this work is the product of human authorship and that this declaration is truthful and accurate.”
